Terms of Service

1. Service Description

TripWith is a platform that helps friends and family plan trips, organize activities, and manage shared group expenses. Users can create trips, record expenses, assign payers, split costs using different methods, and manage group balances.

2. Account Creation & Authentication

You must create an account using a valid email address or sign in with Google or Apple. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and ensuring that all provided information is accurate and up to date.

3. Usage Rules

By using TripWith you agree NOT to:

• Use the service for unlawful purposes
• Infringe the privacy or rights of other users
• Provide misleading, fraudulent, or third-party bank/identity information
• Upload abusive, discriminatory, spam, or malicious content
• Attempt reverse engineering, automated scraping, or disruptive activities

4. Trip Planning Features

The application allows creation of trip itineraries, activity/task notes, date management, and internal group collaboration. These materials are only visible to members of the relevant trip/group.

5. Permissions (Location & Contacts)

TripWith may request optional access to your device location (e.g., tagging expense locations or suggesting nearby points). Declining location access does not block core functionality.

Optional access to your contacts may be requested to simplify inviting friends. If declined, you can add participants manually.

6. Sharing of Bank Information

You may optionally display your bank name and IBAN (or equivalent) in your profile to facilitate manual settlements between group members. TripWith is not a payment processor, holds no funds, and has no direct banking integrations. All transfers occur outside the platform and at users' own risk.

7. Expense Management & Splitting

Supported split methods include equal shares, amount-based allocation, and share (ratio) based splitting. Multiple users can be marked as payers for a single expense. Calculations depend on user-entered data; TripWith is not responsible for inaccuracies caused by incorrect inputs.

8. Intellectual Property

All trademarks, logos, design elements, software code, database structures, and related intellectual property are owned by TripWith. You receive a limited, non-transferable license to use the app for personal, lawful purposes. No copying, distribution, derivative works, or reverse engineering without prior written consent.

9. Third-Party Services

• Google Analytics: Used to understand anonymized usage patterns and improve performance. Some preferences may be managed through device or account settings.
• Google AdMob: Ads may be displayed. Personalization preferences can be managed via platform mechanisms (e.g., Ad settings).
• Authentication Providers: Google and Apple sign-in options supply basic profile data (name, email) to create or link your account.

10. Data Processing & Privacy

Personal data is processed for account management, trip/expense operations, security, and improvement of the service. Please review the separate Privacy Policy for detailed information on data categories, retention, and rights.

11. Liability Disclaimer

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of uninterrupted or error-free operation. TripWith is not liable for user disputes, failed or delayed manual payments, incorrect expense entries, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

12. Account Closure & Suspension

You may delete your account at any time. TripWith reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, abuse the service, or present security risks.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be communicated via in-app notice or email. The updated version becomes effective upon publication.

15. Acceptance

Continued use of the application indicates your acceptance of these Terms. If you do not agree, you should discontinue use and delete your account.
